Michael is a relatively new addition to Nightlife, but is certainly no stranger to the band, having played alongside bass player Bill Ruchie for four years in the variety band The Options. Michael got his professional start at 19, when he was asked to jam with the band playing a friend's wedding reception. After a well-received version of "Johnny B. Goode", a musician in the crowd offered him a job on the spot.
Michael spent most of the Eighties in two bands, Wilderness and City Limits. As Michael puts it, "Both bands had loads of potential that was never realized." This was a disappointment, but the experience served to further Michael's musical and entertainment capabilities. In 1991, he toured around the Western U.S. with the band The Matadors, just long enough to realize the life of a road musician was not to his liking.
Always interested in stretching his expertise, Michael has been a featured player in a production called "Beach Party Summer" at the ValleyFair amphitheater. His appearance as the "Leader Of the Pack" stopped the show nightly! More recently, he has recorded musical tracks for commercials and is currently putting together a demo of his original material. Nightlife proudly boasts his distinctive style.
